These are the most well known federal agencies around.

The Level of Consciousness when it comes to organizations are impacted by some of the following

  • The bylaws of the organization
  • The Intent of the organization
  • The people working at the organization
  • The leadership
  • The actions of the organization

We looked at the top 20 agencies, calibrated them, and added all twenty on here. We noticed that none of the agencies comes anywhere close to the 200 line.

Level of Consciousness
  1. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) (114) – Provides services for military veterans.
  2. General Services Administration (GSA) (106) – Manages federal property and provides procurement solutions.
  3. National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) (88) – Responsible for U.S. science and technology related to air and space.
  4. Social Security Administration (SSA) (83) – Manages the nation’s social security program.
  5. Small Business Administration (SBA) (75) – Supports small businesses with loans, contracts, and guidance.
  6. Department of Agriculture (USDA) (53) – Works on farming, agriculture, forestry, and food.
  7. Department of Defense (DoD) (53) – Oversees national security and the armed forces.
  8. Department of Energy (DOE) (53) – Addresses issues of energy production, regulation, and environmental cleanup from nuclear weapons production.
  9. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (44) – Protects human health and the environment.
  10. Department of State (43) – Handles foreign policy and international relations.

11. Department of the Interior (DOI) (42) – Manages and conserves most federal land and natural resources.
12. Department of Justice (DOJ) (34) – Enforces the law, defends the interests of the U.S., and ensures public safety against threats foreign and domestic.
13. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) (32) – Manages health, public welfare, and social services.
14. Department of the Treasury (22) – Manages government revenue, currency production, and advises on fiscal policy.
15. Department of Transportation (DOT) (20) – Ensures a fast, safe, efficient, accessible, and convenient transportation system.
16. Department of Labor (DOL) (14) – Fosters and promotes the welfare of job seekers, wage earners, and retirees.
17. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) (13) – Functions as the human resources agency for the federal government.
18. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) (13) – Aimed at protecting the nation against threats, securing borders, immigration, cybersecurity, and disaster prevention and management.
19. Department of Education (9) – Establishes policy for, administers, and coordinates most federal assistance to education.
20. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) (8) – Coordinates disaster response and recovery efforts.
